Seeing the Unseen: Experiences

You planned something bad for me, but God produced something good from it, in order to save the lives of many people, just as he’s doing today.     Genesis 50:20

We know that God works all things together for good for the ones who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.              Romans 8:28

Did you experience so much for nothing? I wonder if it really was for nothing.                                                                                                                                Galatians 3:4

Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them. “I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off.    1 Samuel 17: 38-39

Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.   1 Samuel 17:40

One common way of describing personality is to plot ourselves on four scales.
Mark where you see yourself on these scales:

How we relate to others:

Introverted                 Extraverted

1     2     3     4     5     6     7

How we structure our lives:

Controlled                 Spontaneous

1     2     3     4     5     6     7

How we take in information:

Intuitive                         Sensing

1     2     3     4     5     6     7

How we make decisions:

Thinking                         Feeling

1     2     3     4     5     6     7

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil;
for you are with me; your rod and your staff- they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.

o   Lead others into the safe zone by creating an environment so they can fall in love with Jesus too.

  •          Invite someone to church.
  •          Read James 1: 19-25. Pray and reflect on the scripture throughout the day
  •          Use your resources, whether it’s you’re your money, your time, your skills/talents, or your knowledge to help someone this        week
