Basics: Asking the Right Questions

If you’ve ever seen the tv game show Jeopardy!, you know it’s about asking the right questions. Alex Trebek reads an answer off the big blue board and contestants have to buzz in and ask the right question to win a certain dollar amount.

We’re not asking questions for dollar amounts on a game show. We’re looking for the priceless answers for life. And we know those answers are found in God.

Join us for a new message series called “Basics: Asking the Right Questions.
In this series we will be exploring the “right questions” to the “answers” of the basic building blocks of our faith as followers of Jesus Christ.

They may be questions about faith, God, Jesus, prayer, salvation, the Bible, living as a Christian… whatever. We want to address your questions. We want to address the questions of new- and non- Christians.

Our hope is that by you knowing we’re addressing questions you and those close to you are asking, you will make a point to be with us on Sunday, invite others who are asking these questions, and that we will all be equipped to live a life that makes a difference!

Begins: August 7!

There will be some fun and excitement happening each week, sometimes just before the worship service, sometimes just after the worship service…

We’ll announce the next event each Sunday. Or you can like us on Facebook, follow us on twitter, or just check back right here to get a sneak peak of what’s next. July 31:_______________

At LifeSpring we believe that doing life together is an essential part in growing deeper in strengthening our walk with God. None of us were created to live life alone and building healthy relationships with others is important to our spiritual growth. Our Summer Event Series is an easy, low-risk way to jump in, participate, and begin building some of those relationships.

Service With A Smile

Service With A Smile: Teaching Series, May1-May29
If we are to truly follow Jesus, serving others is not optional.

Serving isn’t a substitute for a relationship with Jesus, but is an extension of our relationship with him. Meeting the needs of others is our tangible expression of God’s love through us. You are a part of God’s love being expressed to the world by how you serve others… how you treat others… how you love others.

Be with us on Sundays in May as we dig into “Service with a Smile,” including a special celebration of The Living Water Project on May 15.

Be The Church: May 1, 2011

THIS SUNDAY, 9AM-12NOON
Don’t Just Go to Church, BE the Church
Want to make Bulloch County better? So do we.

The Basic Info
On Sunday, May 1, we will not meet for a typical Sunday worship service. Instead we are having what we call a “Be The Church” day, a day of service to the community. We will meet at the GSU Wesley Foundation (103 Herty Dr., Statesboro, 30458) at 9am and then head into the community to engage in service projects.

We’ll have several work teams spreading out into the community do several projects. Our projects will range from basic “yard work” to building a small ramp for an older lady to assembling gift bags for medical staff, as well as a few other great projects.

At the conclusion of our projects, we do want to meet together to close out our morning. Some of your workteam members may need to be back to pickup young children or to get equipment borrowed from other teams, but we hope everyone will stick around for a closing devotional time at 11:45am. We plan to be done by noon… honest!

How You Can Be Prepared

  1. It will be important for you to arrive as close to 9am as possible. While we have plenty of time to accomplish the projects, we will be meeting briefly before leaving for our project sites. While we’ll have some people at the Wesley Foundation all morning, we don’t want you to get left behind!

  2. We’re rolling our sleeves up and getting a little sweaty, so we recommend you wear “work” clothes. (There are a couple of projects that require a little less “sweat equity”, so everyone will be able to participate regardless of physical ability.)

  3. Come with a kind and caring heart. We’re serving people out of our love for God and want that love to be reflected to those we’re serving. Also, you’ll be on a team with other volunteers… so play nice!

  4. If you are able to help out, we are still in need of the following items:
    • (This list will be available soon.)

Come, be part of making a difference!

“Swing Into Spring” Invite Event

PURPOSE:
To have conversations and provide resources that lead to people attending a LifeSpring worship service.

WHAT IS IT?
On Friday, March 25, the Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department is holding their annual Swing Into Spring event. It is the big kick-off celebration for their spring sports season. By partnering with them as a sponsor for this event, we will have a booth at Mill Creek Park during Swing Into Spring, helping make this event a great experience for all those attending.

WHY ARE WE GOING TO BE THERE?
The reason we are doing this is that it will give us a platform to have conversations and provide resources that lead to people attending a LifeSpring worship service. There are expected to be about 5,000 people attending this event, nearly all of them families with young children. We want to use this time to offer people an invitation to a LifeSpring worship service.

HOW WILL WE DO THIS?
At our booth Friday (4pm-9pm), we will be giving out cotton candy and balloons along with invite cards. We will also have additional information about the church available during that time. Providing these items will create a fun atmosphere for the Swing Into Spring event and give us an opportunity to engage people in conversations and invite them to LifeSpring Church.

VOLUNTEER!
There are multiple volunteer roles, so whether you’re an up-front kind of person or a behind-the-scenes helper, there is a place for you in this project. You can signup to volunteer at the NextSteps table on Sunday or click here to signup online!

Picnic and a Ballgame!

You're invited to a Picnic and a Ballgame, Sunday, March 6.

*UPDATE*

You’re STILL invited to a picnic and a ballgame!

We’ve been watching the weather just like many of you have. We’re expecting some rain tonight and tomorrow morning, so we are planning for very wet grass and clearing skies.

The picnic is being moved indoors to the Conference Center. We’ll eat together right after the worship service. If you’re still planning to bring your picnic food item to share, bring it with you when you come Sunday morning.

Our plans for the baseball game depend on the ballgame itself:

  • If they’re playing, we’re going! (We’ve got free tickets for you and your guests; game starts at 1:30pm.)
  • If they call-off the game due to weather, we’ll look into rescheduling for another game. AND… We’ll have family events and activities at the Conference Center.

Also, you may want to pass this information on to any guests you’ve invited.

See you in the morning!

You’re invited to a picnic lunch with the LifeSpring family and any guests you invite. After the worship service on Sunday, March 6, we’ll get together at Sweet Heart Circle on the GSU campus – just look for the tents and tables! It will be a picnic style lunch, so bring your picnic blanket or tail-gating chairs. Also, bring a food item to share with others. (Drinks, cups, plates, utensils, and napkins will be provided.)

We’ll enjoy a meal together, toss a frisbee or something, and then catch the GSU vs St. John’s baseball game at 1:30pm! When you signup for a ticket to the game at a Sunday worship service, we’ll have yourfree ticket for you at the picnic. Please bring a guest so they can meet the LifeSpring family. Let us know your guests are coming when you signup, and we’ve got their tickets, too!
