46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? 47 As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. 48 They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” Luke 6:46-49

Wise man ways

  1. Building a house
  2. Dug down deep
    1. A lot of work (additional work)
    2. Requires more time
      1. not certain how long it will take till hit rock
      2. don’t stop till we hit the rock
      3. I can’t live in my house as soon as I would like
  3. Laid the foundation for the house
  4. Built the house on the foundation

Foolish man ways

  1. Building a house
  2. Did NOT Dig down to rock
    1. Easier (less work)
    2. Quicker (less time)
      1. Enjoy the home sooner, can move in sooner
  3. Laid the foundation for the house
  4. Built the house on the foundation

This Week Be willing to:

  1.  Stay the course
  2. Keep digging in God’s Word
  3. Trust Jesus’ words and put them into action
