LifeSpring will be having a LS:101 The Basics Class on September 8th from 6:00- 7:15 pm. During our time in LS:101 we will try to answer questions you may have about LifeSpring, salvation, baptism, how LifeSpring creates environments that help people encounter God, and how by “Doing Life Together” we can help people experience the life-changing movements of Jesus’ love. This is the first step to membership at LifeSpring.
If you are interested in taking this class you are able to sign up at each worship service in the hallway.
- Declaring who’s we are through Baptism
- Baptism is an outward and visible sign of the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Baptism doesn’t make you a believer; only your faith in Jesus does that.
Baptism is a sign, for you and to others of Jesus working in your life and your public declaration of your faith in God through Jesus. For Adults and youth it shows that you already believe.
Many people were baptized while an infant or small child and don’t remember their vows of baptism made on their behalf by parents or loved ones. Others may have been baptized as adults, but have not been living out the vows they made at their baptism.
In order to meet the needs those who desire to be baptized, and those who want to re-affirm their vows of baptism, LifeSpring will be holding Special Service of Baptism on September 15th at the WW Mann’s Retreat Center off of Hwy 80 from 5-8 pm for the entire LifeSpring family.
This will be a big celebration event with fun, food and fellowship. We will begin the evening with a short worship service then move outside for the Baptism of those who desire to be baptized. This will be followed by a time when others can Re-affirm their baptism vows. (At LifeSpring Church, individuals being baptized and re-affirming their baptismal vows choose the how the water will be used for them. Sprinkling of water, pouring of water or full immersion in water are all acceptable).
After the service we will have a covered dish meal of celebrations. The side dishes and desserts will be provided by our LifeSpring families, and the Church will provide the rest.
If you would like to participate in the baptism or the reaffirming your baptismal vows please bring a towel, a change of clothes and wear darker clothing.
